Can hypnosis help in overcoming sexual obsession?
Yes it can!
Are you obsessed with a particular person sexually or with a part of the body?
Or are you obsessed with sex?
Is it a time in your life where you cannot get sexual thoughts out of your conscious awareness?
Does this get in the way of you leading a peaceful and creative life?
For some people sexual obsession can ruin their lives because they get into trouble with other people and maybe the law.
They become estranged from other people at work. They might get arrested. It can even lead to the loss of relations within a marriage or partnership or loss of communication from the family who may reject you for what they perceive as unacceptable behaviour.
Sexual obsession may be physiological or psychological. Some people have high levels of testosterone or oestrogen in their bodies that causes them to be highly sexualised.
During the ages 16 to 22, males probably have their highest levels of testosterone. Women can be more sexualised later in their teens and that can last into their 40s.
However, obsession is driven by many factor including psychological mindsets that can accelerate or override low hormone levels.
Sexual obsession is not just about your physiological sex drive but also about your emotional needs and need to feel relevant, noticed, important, recognised or desired.
In becoming sexually obsessed with someone or something, you may be seeking to fulfil something that you think deep down is missing inside you and that you have failed to previously address.
Sex is always within the social context in which you live. So that has to be looked at from all those different angles to help you overcome sexual obsession.
You may be desiring someone or something because it is considered naughty or forbidden fruit and there is always a part of us that longs to taste that forbidden fruit.
Psychotherapy and sex therapy is definitely the way for you to go as long as you choose a qualified and recognised sex therapist. Hypnosis can also help you to bring down the sexual obsession, control your thoughts, emotions and behaviours so that you function in an easier manner to live your life well.
