There are a range of infertility issues that I deal with in my clinic in Sydney.
Infertility for both males and females have many causes that can include hormonal dysfunction, physiological difference of many kinds in the reproductive organs, lack of sperm and egg production, weak sperm, brain dysfunction, genetic differences, nutritional deficits, toxicity, and stress-induced infertility due to psychological disturbance.
Since I am a naturopath as well as a clinical hypnotherapist (I also teach hypnotherapists how to use hypnosis within sex therapy) and psychosexual therapist (member of Australian Society of Sex Educators, Researchers and Therapists NSW), I focus on natural fertility management.
I take a full medical history and may order blood tests so that we get a full picture of what is happening with you.
Sometimes I prescribe some herbs, foods, changes of lifestyle or make other recommendations. I may even ask for further physiological investigation from specialists.
Many people can be afraid or embarrassed to talk to other people about this problem but we provide a safe, confidential, professional environment to help you with fertility problems.
I also see any people who have been involved in IVF programmes for a considerable time with no success of pregnancy or who have got pregnant but suffered many miscarriages.
IVF programmes can be exhausting emotionally as well as physically so it is important to focus on emotional recovery to restore wellbeing.
The pressure and stress that some people experience when trying to get pregnant and carry a child can actually contribute towards failure to carry a child full term.
What is missed by many people is that the healthiest children are born to people who have prepared for pregnancy. So some of the work I do with people is pre-pregnancy health checks so they are in maximum physical condition before conception.
The child you create largely depends on your health at the time before, during conception and during pregnancy, no matter which parent you might be.
It is not just about how fast you can run or how many times you go to the gym but about the level of nutrition your body is absorbing or the toxins you have been exposed to recently and in the distant past.
Many women do not get pregnant because they have a nervous womb.
This mean the level of stress they experience translates into failure of embryo implantation in the lining of the uterus. Everything is there and ready to work but sometimes you just don’t get pregnant when all your friends seem to be having children at the drop of hat.
What’s the proof that this exists? Well there thousands of cases of women who have tried to get pregnant for years and ended up adopting a child, then after the adoption they mysteriously, suddenly got pregnant.
This teaches us that mindset, emotion and stress-free living vastly increases the chances of getting pregnant.
In cases where there are psychological reasons for fertility problems, I would use psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to help change your mindset and allow you to gain better control of your body and return it to fertility. This can prove very effective.
Many techniques can be employed within the clinical environment to help you go forward to get pregnant and carry your child full term.
