There are two kinds of depression: endogenous and exogenous.
Endogenous depression is when a person is suffering from bodily imbalances, for example hormonal disruptions, effects of operations or illness, disease toxicity or malnutrition.
In modern culture depression has become epidemic because people work too hard and the body goes into organ and systemic collapse. We are economically wealthier but poorer health- wise.
Endogenous depression can be helped by hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling.

You may not want to engage with the world or other people in case you get further damaged. You withdraw from the world, go inside so become an introverted, depressive personality.

Because depression creates a certain set of defeatist mindsets, you need to change the way you think and act, as well as change your lifestyle to one that allows you to restore a normal zest for life.
You need to reprogram the mind and your body.

You can either sit around and be self-indulgent, expect others to fix the problem for you or you make up your mind to do everything you can to change yourself and your situation to wake up your brain healing systems to help you feel happy in life again.
Remember depression is a signal that what is happening and what you are doing is not right for you and that you need to change things.
Everyone comes to depression for different reasons and experiences different conflicts inside their mind that need to be explored and resolved
That signal is part of your defence system that causes you to withdraw from fear of danger and discomfort. You must listen to the signal that tells you that you need to change things and if you do not, that signal will keep on sounding until things change.
